Hi AllenM,
I never managed to get any kind of notification when people updated this thread, so would have got back to you sooner.
YES, I CAN GET INTO MY VAULT! Wooohoooo!
I had almost given up hope of this, but glad Symantec came through in the end.
I just need to merge the old safe with the new one. If I export my local vault into a DAT file, and then login to the on-line vault and import, will it merge using the newer entries as priority?
Before I try, I think an export of both vaults would be wise.

Hi dunc-tt,
I was wondering why you didn't come back on and reply after my last couple of updates.
I thought perhaps you were just frustrated and had already given up and just didn't want to deal with it any more. I certainly could not blame you if you had been too frustrated. I feel bad that the resolution did not work itself out sooner than it did.
To ensure you get emails in the future when there is a response to a thread you are tracking, please see the following post.
The merge should work correctly, just be sure to choose the merge option and not the replace option. And YES by all means please do back up (export) your current ID safe profile first. ![]()
Did you have a chance to check out the ID safe web portal I mentioned a few posts back? If so, what did you think?
Please let me know how it goes after the merge operation.
Best wishes.
Allen

Hi AllenM,
Yes, I had pretty much given up, but thought this would be the last time to check before ditching the online version.
I was thinking how helpful it would be if I could access my vault from a non-norton system just this evening when driving home, and yes it does work nicely - even with my long password. Definitely use that again. Useful if browsing on the web from work and doing a little shopping or admin.
Will try the merge as both clients and on-line are now backed up. Update soon...

Done the merge. Logged out of safe, logged into on-line one and imported. Guessed moving vault online might have lost something, so did not want to risk it. It was easy to choose the conflicts and recommended the newest by default which was good.
One slightly annoying feature is that I have a number of duplicates. The same website, but slightly different URL's.
Still, it is only a handful and something I can sort out when I have time.
Thanks AllenM for persistence, patience and supplementary information about the portal. Lots of P's!
