Identity safe missing from toolbar

I am using IE and identity safe is no longer in my toobar.  When I right click to add it back it is no longer listed as an option.  When I try to log into websites that normally would prompt identity safe it is no longer coming up.  (even when I log into identity safe through Norton)  Help!

Are you using the 32 bit version of IE?  On the Menu Toolbar select Help > About  Internet Explorer.  Ddoes the version number end with 64 bit?  If so, it is not supported and you need to use the 32 bit version.

Have yu recently update either IE or NIS?  If NIS, besure to run Liveupdate (rebooting as reuqested) until it responds "No more updates available" and then reboot one omore time.

Keep us posted.

I checked IE and it says 256 bit?  I have never heard of that version??  It is IE version 9.

That is the Cipher Strength.

In the shot below is the 32 bit version.  The 64 bit version wouldl have 64 Bit inside the black ring.

Can you answer the other questions I asked?

Re: Identity safe missing from toolbar

Ok, I have the 32 bit version then.   It looks exactly like your screen capture.  Thanks for sending that.

I did update internet explorer a few weeks ago but I think Identity safe was working after the update.  I just ran live update on Norton and there are no updates.  I rebooted today to see if that would fix the issue.  Now I am stumped.  Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall Norton?

I wil assume you are running NIS 2012, version 19.2.10 ( Support > About  on mauinpageof NIS)

In IE, Click on Tools > Manage add-ons> you may need to scroll down in order to see the Symantec area.  Ensure you have the following 3 entries and they are enabled.

We'll be waiting for your response.

At this point in time I am trying to avoid a remove and reinstall, but we may notbe able to.

Re: Identity safe missing from toolbar

I have been experiencing the same difficulties as the OP with 'Indentity Safe' on the Norton toolbar. One day it was there, the other, it had disappeared! The toolbar now displays the search box and the 'Safe Web' feature, but there's no way of signing in to Identity Safe from the toolbar. I have gone through and checked the various steps recommended previously and all three components of the toolbar are apparently enabled - but don't appear! Any thoughts on what I can do? Have become - probably unwisely so, I admit! - a little reliable on the 'identity safe' function...!
