Identity safe working differently

I recently installed the latest update. Now Identity Safe is working differently.

Before the update, when I turned-on my computer, I would always get the ID safe drop-down window so I could sign-in.

Then,  every time I visited a site that required sign-in, it would automatically enter the info.

Now, after the update, I always have to click on the tab at the top of the page to get the drop-down to log-in and on many

sites, it only enters the user ID and I have to manually enter the password even though it is stored in ID safe.

Did I do something wrong to cause this or is it just one of the "tweaks" in the update?

Just curious

Welcome,

Have you reviewed the settings you have selected for identity safe? Updates don't always bring everything forward. As well, some updates change the way things work or don't work.

Hope this helps

Hi Boongsong,

Whenever we visit a login page without logging into identitysafe, infobar will be displayed to login to identity safe, once you login to that, autofill will work if we revisit a page with saved logins.

We can control the info bar for "log in to identity safe" using following settings, Open NIS->Settings->Identitysafe-> Check "Prompt me to login" is on or not

Could you provide the list of URLs in which you facing the issue.

Please provide the product version(You can find it in NIS Main UI->Support->about),Browser type with version,OS information

Thanks,

Senthil.

Re: Identity safe working differently

Thank you dickevans and senthkumar for your responses. I apologize for not getting back sooner but I wasn't aware of any responses to my post - wasn't notified.

My version is 19.6.2.10.

Each night, I turn my computer off. In the morning, when I turn it on and access an internet site (isp or whatever) I always have to click on the ID Safe tab at the top and then log-in. Before, it would automatically drop down.

As for the urls, I will keep an eye out and make a note of those that don't fill automatically. I know some sites, such as BofA do not allow automatic fill of my password and I have to enter that manually.

The problem is not anything to be real concerned about. It is pretty much an inconvenience, but I will live with it if that is the result of the update.

P.S. I tried to include a snapshot of my ID safe settings but cannot as it is a jpg atch

Again, thanks for your replies.

See if this link helps with your snapshot posting situation:

Re: Identity safe working differently

Thanks yank. Appreciate to response.

Here's a snapshot of my ID Safe settings. The other time I tried, I kept getting the error message "The file does not have a valid extension for an attachment. txt.log.lue are valid extensions.

The prt scr does not work on my computer so I use the snipping tool  and they are saved as jpg.

Any ideas why I can't attach anything?

Hi boongsong,

If you check the link in yank's post you will see you need to click the tree icon.  The picture will have to be approved by the Mods before we can see it.

Cheers,  Dave.

Re: Identity safe working differently

id safe settingsEgad!! I didn't look that far. Thanks so very much Krusty13. I guess I should follow my teachings (while in military), that, when all else fails, follow the instructions".

I reallly appreciate all of you taking me in stride. So many forums, so many different things to learn. But, from now on, I'll take my teaching (above) seriously and not assume.

Again, thanks.

For those interested, here are my ID Safe settings. (I hope I get this right)

Under "Passwords & Security",  you will see these options  -  (This refers to Norton 360,  so may appear differently in NIS12}.

Identity Safe Password Settings.PNG

Maybe one of these might offer a solution for you.

Re: Identity safe working differently

@ Krusty 13,

It is the same for NIS 2012 and N 360 (V6).  The bottom option, "Ask for my password upon resuming from suspend" is not present in N360 (V5).  It was added in the 2012 products.
