Hallsballs0, run Live Update from your Norton Suite.

Re: Blocking Facebook??

I'm having a problem here, too.

I'm using Norton 360 and it's not obvious what version it is or how it corresponds to NIS versions, though it has a 2010 copyright so I assume there must be a newer one.  It looks like the link you offer is good for updating all products, though, not just NIS.

I'm using https://www.facebook.com and will wait for an update (though I just clicked boldly through and that seems to work since we know this warning is bogus--not always safe, I know).

I see a great many people are having this same problem so subscribing to a discussion full of "me too" posts is useless.  I'd like to have something more like voting or a thumbs-up where I can mark the thread as "I care about this issue" to add weight to fixing it without having to subscribe.  I'd like it if doing so would also cause me to get a message from Norton/Symantec about proposed fixes without having to subscribe to the whole discussion thread, which I can always find and browse even without being subscribed.

Re: Norton is blocking my Facebook ... VERY annoying. Any help?

[ Edited ]

We have released the fix for the facebook problem through a LiveUpdate patch. Please run LiveUpdate multiple times, and restart the computer. If the problem still persists, clear the browser cache and then check facebook page again.

It may take some more time to distribute this fix globally, so please be patient until LiveUpdate downloads and installs the patch. Sorry for the inconvenience this has cause all of you.

Thanks,

HarryP

Facebook blocked

I was able to navigate through my facebook account as of this morning. This afternoon I can get onto facebook and view the news stream, but if I try to go to my specific facebook page, Norton has blocked it. How do I unblock it? I did clear my cache as suggested on previous posts.

Re: Norton and Facebook

I reported, on another thread, 1) that I did receive a LiveUpdate just before the problem, and 2) that the Fb address listed in my address bar, now, is www.facebook.com/#!/ (I don't know precisely when  that began to be the case).  And, yes: the autocaptcha has repeatedly made me repost my message.  At the same time, the message in the "Rich Text" section did not appear but rather a truncated message that was trapped in the "HTML" section.  Phew!!!!
