I'm looking into why some users are still seeing this issue (while others are not). I'll do my best to keep everyone informed of our progress. Thanks.

If you are running Norton Internet Secuirty 2012, you can resolve this issue by running LiveUpdate and re-starting your computer.
If you are running Norton Internet Security 2011 here is a visual guide:
Run LiveUpdate
After running LiveUpdate re-start your computer.
Now you can either step away from your computer for 15-30 minutes for "Idle Time" to kick in, or we can shorten the wait for Idle-Time by following the below steps:
After Idle-Time kicks in, the new update should be applied and you can browse safely to Facebook.
If Facebook STILL will not load, lets try clearing out your browser's cache.
For Mozilla Firefox users:
For Microsoft Internet Explorer
Norton Internet Security 2011 does not support Google Chrome for Antiphishing so you should not be having any problems.
But in case you're using 2012 and you still have a problem here's how you clear your cache in Chrome.
If none of the above worked, lets get a bit more technical because it sounds like we have an unknown issue and an Uninstall/Reinstall may be the best solution.
<folder_starting_with_NIS> is a folder that starts with “NIS”, for example “NIS_19.1.0.28”.
If you've followed the above and STILL cannot connect to Facebook, please email Tony_Weiss@symantec.com
Thank you.

I am surprised that such a basic, ordinary, accepted
method as clearing system internet caches has escaped so many users?
Also: 48 pages and not one re-boot?

I'm getting the same problem with a completely different - (non-facebook) site.
NIS 2012. Win 7 64 & Firefox.
Looks to me like a Firefox related problem.
Makes me wonder how on earth my https logon link is being intercepted????????????
