Insight is removing application files I produce. This just started happening last week.

How can I disable this for my output directory?

What Norton product and version number are you using?

Assuming Norton Internet Security 2012, you can add your output directory to the exclusion lists by configuring the options listed at the following location:

Open NIS 2012 > Settings > Computer > Antivirus and SONAR Exclusions

Seems like it's Norton Internet Security 2010. Should I upgrade?

Why would I need to upgrade? Do you deprecate support every 2 years?

I've been pretty happy with the product so far except that I've never seen any "external threats" removed :)

Thanks for your time. I've excluded various development directories and things seem to be ok now.

Will my customer will have to pay for some kind of registration for software for users to avoid trouble?

How exactly do I get programs listed as having a safe reputation? There are many happy users already.
