Norton IS 19.6.2.10
Win XP Pro SP3 - same problem on two machines.
Just noticed that Insight Optimizer no longer appears to do anything - it runs for one or two seconds and stops.
Tried manually launching Insight Optimizer (as an administrator) and it does the same.
If I manually run Windows Defrag on boot drive it does need to defrag and takes a long time, as expected.
Any ideas why Insight Optimizer is not performing defrag please?
Thanks

The Norton Optimizer may use a different threshold for fragmentation than the Windows defrag. Just because Norton does not do a defrag does not mean that your computer is not optimized. Many feel that defraging is not as important as we used to think it was.

... and at the other extreme, mine ran for about an hour at the weekend. Never noticed it before so I'm assuming its had a recent overhaul ?

If I manually launched the Optimizer it would 99% of the time run for at least a minute or so, now it never runs for more than 2 seconds. I have no other defrag running so have relied on Norton. This is the same on multiple machines

It is aways possible that your system does not need optimizing. In that case, it would only run long enough to diagnose that it is not needed.
