Interesting NAV2010 bug

Hi All...

With NAV2010 17.6.0.32 on Vista32 Business SP2, I found a situation where NAV will slow a program every time it starts.

1) Execute a program that SONAR will quarantene; in my case C:\Cygwin\bin\svn.exe.

2) Reboot

3) Restore the program, but do not exclude it from future scans (uncheck the exclude box).

4) Add the folder containing the program to the Scan Exclusions (Real Time Protection exclusions); in my case C:\Cygwin\bin.

5) Execute the program. It now starts with a long delay and lots of disk activity.

Thanks,

...Karl

KarlM,

What happens when you exclude it from future scans? Do you still see the same delays? I'm guessing that you won't. This delay is only just because the file is scanned by Auto-protect.

Re: Interesting NAV2010 bug

Actually, if I execute the program multiple times, it remains slow.

The way I had to fix it was to remove the program (file) from the scan exclusions, execute the program and let it be quarantined. Then reboot and restore the file, but this time exclude the program from future scans (the checkbox for the restore). Then I can add it to the exclusions list again with no slowdown.

Thanks,
