I am a biophysicist who writes extensive code analyzing my data. I wrote a small program to stay resident in memory and, when a hotkey is pressed, just copy a backup data file to a data file that I have to constantly re-analyze by hand. This new version of Norton keeps removing the memory resident program as a high risk virus. Furthermore, when I tell the program to reinstate it and take no action in the future, whenever the computer is rebooted it once again attacks my program. This must stop!!! I need to be able to tell Norton to leave my programs alone PERMANENTLY. Any advice???

Hi! The Mouse,
Welcome to the Norton Community!! :)
Please go to https://submit.symantec.com/websubmit/retail.cgi and fill out the form to submit the file you created to do your work with. This will allow Symantec to analyze the file and create the necessary settings for the Norton product(s) to properly address the presence of your file and its memory residency.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. :)
