Internet Download Manager integration with NIS 2010

Hi

I recently bought Internet Download Manager (IDM) because my downloads were very slow. I went in to it's preferences and saw that you can automatically set your antivirus to scan the downloaded files, so I want Norton to scan the files, but it asks for the main scanner .exe file so which file do I choose?

Thanks

Re: Internet Download Manager integration with NIS 2010

the navw32.exe in Norton's directory (in your local disk, program files etc.)

if I remember correctly, the command is navw32 /L

I stand to be corrected

Hi mattsegers

I tried what you said but how do I know whether Norton has scanned a downloaded file or not?

Re: Internet Download Manager integration with NIS 2010

try downloading a file with IDM and see what happens? Norton should open a scan session like it would if you did a normal full system scan, except it should only scan the downloaded item - let me know.

Nothing happens, no scan session opens, there is no download insight.

Re: Internet Download Manager integration with NIS 2010

That's odd.

I must have made a mistake with something then - I can't check at the moment as the pc I am using right now does not have Norton on it, or a download manager. I will have to check up on this when I get home. Sorry I can't help right now - but I'll post back as soon as I get it to work myself.

Sorry about this

[ Edited ]

ok got it.

the command line parameter should be:

%file%

EXACTLY like that. sorry I took so long, I only had a chance to test it now. If that doesn't work then I am unsure what is wrong...
