Since installing NIS 2010 the main database program I use runs very slowly. It is server from a shared drive on an Win 7 machine and is run on 2 client pc's Vista / XP sp3. It seems as if NIS 2010 is scanning every read write on the shared drive. Is there any way of reducing the real time scans without compromising security?
Thanks

Hi doctorboris,

That is how Auto-Protect the real time scanner is desgined to work. It will scan each and every read-write operations in your computer. Unfortunately, there is no way you can overcome this at the cost of compromising security. But, because you are accessing the file from a known server of yours, it isn't a big risk to disable Auto-Protect and see how it goes. Just my two cents.

Check the status of the Windows 7 server computer in the Network Security map, and make sure that it is set to Full Trust. You can also try excluding the file/folder associated with the Database program from the Auto-Protect Scans .
