Hi Paysource,
We would recommend not to disable Norton Confidential plugin in chrome, since it provides following security features when you use chrome.,
Please see more information from this link http://us.norton.com/products/tutorials/features.j
Thanks,

Thank you for the reply Senthil, so do I just accept that if I stay with NIS 2012 I am stuck with the crashing issue. This also happens in IE, as well as Chrome, therefore leaving my PC as a stand alone.
Can I resort back to NIS 2011? if not It seems the only way to solve the problem is to cancel my update next week and go with McAfee or AVG.

I use NIS 2012 and believe it to be a complete security suite. On its own, it works well with Chrome. What does Norton Confidential offer over and above the suite?

If there is no profile created with Identity Safe, does Chrome or IE crash when visiting log-in sites? If there is no crash, then find alternatives to Identity Safe. If there are crashes, then consider switching, either to a different browser or security.
I use a 64bit browser which Norton does not support with its ToolBar/Confidential. NIS 2012 and I protect my PC and me just fine without the ToolBar/Confidential. Obviously, if some entity wants to hack and attack me directly, I would be defenseless with or without NIS 2012 and its ToolBar/Confidential.

Maybe I'm getting confused with what things are called. Is Norton Confidential part of the suite? As far as I know, Norton adds a toolbar plus..
Norton Identity Protection (Chrome)
Norton Vulnerability Protection (Firefox)
Norton Identity Protection and Norton Vulnerability Protection (Internet Explorer)
Where does Norton Confidential come into that. From what I've read, it seems to be an additional program ..isn't it?

Hi Paysource,
Could you provide following information to know more about the crash issue with Chrome/IE
1. Provide Product version of NIS 2012(You can find it NIS main UI->Support->about) . Latest version of NIS 2012 is 19.6.1.8
If you don't have latest ,please run live update until it shows "no more updates required" and restart the system whenever it requires then check the behavior in Chrome and IE.
2.Provide Chrome version, latest version of Chrome is 17. Please install latest version of chrome and check the issue.
3.Provide IE version with OS information, run automatic windows updates for OS to keep your system up to date. Now check the Crash issue in IE.
4. Could you provide specific scenario in which you are facing the crash issue in Chrome and IE
Note: NIS 2011 we don't have Norton toolbar support Chrome
Thanks,
Senthil

Hi Tryer,
Norton Confidential Plugin and Norton Identity Protection addons are same, Its just displaying product name when it crashed in IE/Chrome/Firefox
To confirm this, Please see screenshot attached below
Hope this clarifies your doubt,
Thanks,
Senthil
