Somehow that Vista Antivirus 2012 got on my system despite security and after much searching I found Norton Power Tool Eraser. I ran the software and now my MSCONFIG file is completely gone along with the Windows folder it was in. What the heck happened and how do I get my MSCONFIG and other stuff back and working again?

the windows folder can't be gone otherwise you would have no Windows again.

Start Norton Power Eraser again but ask in the options to restore.
