Re: Remote Monitoring

Hi nailzuk,

This seems to be a different issue than this thread is addressing.

When did you install NIS 2011 and have you had this problem from the beginning? What security software did you have previously? Was it an earlier version of NIS and if so which one?

If you temporarilly disable the NIS firewall is the problem still present? If problem is not present with the NIS firewall disabled, what trust level do you have the computers set to in the Network Security map? You should either set it to "Shared" trust and it might require Full Trust.

I am asking the moderator to split your post into its own thread for better visibility.

Best wishes.

Allen

Re: Remote Monitoring

Hi nailzuk,

Also, if you are sharing files your Network Trust Level should be "Shared."  Normally Norton would do this automatically if you have Printer and File Sharing enabled on your PC.  If your wireless network is not using encryption however, the trust level will be set at "Protected" which would block the traffic from other computers on the network.
