Hello,
I need assistance if possible. I have Windows 7 64 bit system and my live update is not working at all. I don't mean some of the time, or a little of the time, but it constantly fails to download anything(keep getting a failed to complete). My last update has a "not available" message. If I cannot update in the next 24 hours, I may be forced to start another firewall/antivirus since this is no good if I cannot update at all. Does anyone have any recommnedations on how to temporarily fix or fix(I can reinastall but I have read messages that say that this will not help the problem)? I can send screensgots if needed.
Thank you for any help,
Jason

Welcome seek,
Sorry to hear of your problem.
What Norton product are you using, & what version? (support > about)
You may need to reinstall, but first, do you have any other security programs running in real-time?
Have you ever had any other security programs installed on your PC, including trial offers? & how were they uninstalled?
I would suggest you export your Identity Safe to a safe location.
Also, Try clicking Support > Subscription Status.
Thanks,
Dave.

Hello,
I have NIS 2012 19.7.1.5, I also have Malwarebytes Anti Malware (not realtime protection though) and Iobit Malware fighter. No other security software on my system. I have 265 days remaining on my subscription.

I would still suggest there is a conflict - http://www.iobit.com/malware-fighter.html
Enhanced Real-time Protection EnhancedIObit Malware Fighter provides you with ultimate anti-malware and real-time protection, including "Startup Guard", "Browser Guard", "Network Guard", "File Guard", and "Cookie Guard", which keeps your computer stay secure all the time.

We seem to have returned to a minor flurry of update failures, after almost two whole months of error free updates. Last night, I had another one, this time on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit system.
Ran Live Update at 8:30 PM EDT, with the following results:
Norton 2012 Web Protection Definitions: Success
Norton 2012 Smart Virus Definitions X64: Success
Norton Pulse Updates: Success
Norton Activity Map Data: Failure
Norton Safe Web Statistics: Success
Ran Live Update again at 8:33 PM EDT with the following results:
Norton Activity Map Data: Success

It is puzzling to me (in the absence of any meaningful feedback) that we seem to go for some time with things working as they should, then will get a spate of failures. These would be more tolderable (to me at least) if we had some feedback on what the causes are. Had another failure this afternoon, as follows:
Ran Live Update at 2:20 PM EDT 16 Sept with the following results:
Norton 2012 Web Protecton Definitions: Failure
Norton Pulse Update: Success
Norton Activity Map Data: Success
Reran Live Update at 2:35 PM EDT with the following results:
Norton 2012 Web Protection Definitions: Success
Norton Pulse Update: Success
