July 11th Update crash

Symantec,

Installing that update cause a lot of problems for my business yesterday. 3 of my machines crashed and we could not figure out what was causing the problem. Lost productivity for a full day and had to spend $350 for a tech to come in and attempt to fix the problem. Eventually he uninstalled Norton IS 2011 and things went to sort of normal.

Is Norton planning a compensation scheme for their customers who incurred financial loss due to this problem ?

Re: July 11th Update crash

Hi milapv,

Sorry to hear about your lose of productivity, and as just a volunteer on this board I have can not do anything about compensation - someone who actually works for Symantec will have to address that.

Does the following link apply to your case?

As you can see Symantec was right on top of it and a fix was issued within 12 hours - which is really lightening fast for all the work that goes into such a fix.
