My Live Update on my new NIS 2012 appears to be working fine and i get notifications in the Security History to show the result and whether Automatic or Interactive (i.e Manual). However I notice quite a lot of other Liveupdate activity indicated by "Run Live Update -10 seconds/ Minutes ago etc" which doesn't find its way there.  Are these the pulse updates?

Yes these are the pulse updates. Since these run every ~10 minutes or so it would clutter the history too much if all of them were listed there, so only the actual live update sessions are recorded in history.
