Hi
I'm running Norton AV 2008. I've installed the product (5 user pack - other 4 laptops are ok) onto a laptop and Liveupdate will run, check for updates, download updates but will not process them error code 1812
I've run the autofix tool which says it had found a problem and gave me two fixes.
First one was to install ms xml parser 3 sp7 which I did , re-booted - no difference.
Second was to run Liveupdate from the website which ran but then failed on updating wmi update - gave me error 1812 again.
I've re-installed the product completely - made no difference, get same errors.
I'm at a loss now because all I'm doing is going round in circles.
Thanks
Jo

Hi jo35,
It is likely that some of the inventory files associated with LiveUpdate have become corrupted. In your particular case, I'd actually recommend updating to the 2009 version of Norton AntiVirus on the problematic laptop. This will get you out of the loop you are caught in - we've made significant changes in LiveUpdate, so I'm certain it will resolve the problem you encountering.
Let us know how it goes.

I also have the failure to process update problem.
I am a Norton subscriber thru my ISP, Verizon - Yahoo and have been working with tech support for several days with no solutions.
Have removed and installed totally. Removed and installed/repaired Live update.
Used Norton autofix etc. with no luck.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
They say that they can not update to 2009 version.

The Yahoo protection package is Version 2.6.0 ( 2008 07.02.31) and the Norton Components are all listed as 2008.1.28.1
