Maliciois files?

NIS 2011
Vista Home Premium 32 bit
IE8 browser (only browser on comp)

noticed two files that appear odd or in wrong location. Wondering if others see this too?
Installed flash player 11.2.202.228 for IE in Vista machine
1) Active X files for flash use to show like this in C:/Windows/System32/ Macromed
Flash11g.ocx
But the newest one looks like this
Flash_32_11_2_202_228.ocx
IS THAT HOW IT SHOULD LOOLK NOW?
2) I also see another file located in
C:/Windows/System32
FlashPlayerApp
Which is an exe

Are these both normal? I have never seen these files prior to the 11.2.202.228 version of flash player

Makes me wonder if I downloaded the Vista 32 bit verion for IE

Re: Maliciois files?

Apparently, yes.  I see the same named files on my Win7 x-64 PC.

Well, I have the 64-bit version of the file: Flash64_11_2_202_228.ocx

Re: Maliciois files?

It's how it should look starting with the latest version.

And even if you had downloaded the 64-bit version by mistake, it wouldn't have mattered, since the 64-bit installer comes with both 32- and 64 bit versions and installs the appropriate one.

Re: Maliciois files?

Yeah. I have a 64-bit system, so for me it's in the SysWOW64 folder instead, but yes, it was also added with the latest version.
