I want to know, how can i download the latest updated version as a trial version so that i can insert my key and get directly the latest updated version build. I am little bit not sure, whether Norton update center will give me the latest full build or not.!!
Does anybody have any suggestion ?

Hi Silverhawk
17.1.0.19 is not yet on the dowmload servers as a full download. The version that is there is 17.0.0.136 which you would have to update via liveupdate.

Hi silverhawk,
The latest 17.1.0.19 version can only be obtained via LiveUpdate at the moment.
Please read Tim's announcement on the deployment of the patch over here:

I was going to upgrade from NIS 2009 today, but when I saw this I decided against it. Since the patch includes fixes for problems with upgrading it does not make sense to me that it would not be incorporated into the dowloadable upgrade or the full install. I see that the patch has been released to all customers.
Maybe I am missing something here.
How will I know when the latest version of NIS 2010 is on the servers for updating or full install?

Hi Greg
You should not have an issue doing an upgrade to NIS2010 and then a liveupdate to the very latest version. You can read Tim's release notes on the top of this forum what the updates were for.

You can download the full NIS2010 package from here
www.norton.com/nis10 and as long as you have a vilid subscription to yuor current NIS2009 you can update for free.

Hi MD Turner,
I guess what makes me cautious is the comment in the link above:
Corrected an issue with upgrading from 2009 to 2010
Ie I don't want to upgrade from a server file that requires a live Update to solve an update problem, which may occur before I can Live Update it, or may prevent me from Live Updating in the first place.
That is the issue I am having trouble with.

It will probably be announced in the forums when the NIS 2010 installer has been updated with the latest patch.
