I'm stuck on whether to click download or not? Exploroer says that I have uploaded softwear Unapproved by Facebook and I must Download McAfee Scan and Repair or I never Ever can log in using this PC. My lap Top sitting here is a reminder never to download anti virus when i have anti virus already. So I used Google Chrome to log in, everything seems fine. But I cannot use Explorer for facebook. I get the same window every time I try. It stats that "if" they find a virus and they cannot remove it I can remove it myself. lol Other known issues My YouTube, 3D does not work on Explorer. but some do on Google Chrome..Firefox just displays a blk screen on all video forever.

Hang on for some advice on this but that reads like a standard scam!
But my trusty Google search has produced a link to this thread:
Locked out of Facebook: unauthorized ads message
and one later message gives links to two articles about it:
Facebook launches malware checkpoints for users with infected computers
New Facebook feature allows users to voluntarily lock their accounts and initiate malware scans
and
Facebook security 'checkpoint' hits user roadblock
Some Facebook users say their accounts were locked when they tried to use the new Malware Checkpoint service
as to what your best course of action is I'm not sure since I'm not in this situation.
So hang on for some help ....
Did you download the McAffee or not? There are tools for removing McAfee products.

No I will not download, the risk is too great to my DESK top. and i can use google chrome. My Lap top will download music and videos .but not my nortan internet seguirty 2012 or any anti virus malewear material.just loops back to open or save, over and over. . I had switched to Titainium, and I think they are affiliated with powerspeed (cannot be removed) which brought down my lap top including the dvd drive ,so i cannot install antivirouse. Yet it will log into facebook via Enternet Exploror. I cannot download google chrome or firefox, that is one smart virfus or whatever. it reliese on microsoft essintials now to protect it because no anti viruse can be input. but ironicly just before download the last thing is they are scanned by microsoft essentials, odd that a temporary backup plan for anti viruse would take over compleat controll for ever :/ no way to shut that down or add back the assotiations with Explorer and the downloading of anti virus. I will take your advise and wait till i know alot more, thanks. watch my videos on YouTube pictxterplaymates channel. all legal all me and my gf's, good music, all types. something for everybody.

i did not read the articals you sent me to before I wrote "Microsoft Sequrity Essentials" in my last email. they are partners it seems , im not done with the third artical but that was very unsettling. I can Afford the internal combustion of this lap lop if we blow it up trying to munipulate the McAfee system wich does not seem to be coming up in seach on the lap top ,i'v seen it there in the passed as a a program as I dig my seach for Mirosoft Sequreity Essintials.lnk . (Everything has a ink on it it seems now. or an exe ok there is a dill im getting hungry noiw ) lead to a file that has not, and cannot be opened, copying the link takes me back to download it scan it and bamb, start again. somebody like you might learn alot about the mirosoft, mcafree, TiTanium,PC Powerspeed 1.0.0.0 meldown, with my infected lap top. it has a stong heart and keeps on surfing, It may show my credit card activity to the next doort naibors tho idk. thanks for letting me get that out , :) bye

Pictxterowner,
I'm sorry but I've read your two latest messages and I really can't follow whether you have a problem you need help on or not.
It would seem that you have not encountered a virus or trojan but an "improvement" introduced by Facebook. SInce I don't belong to Facebook I'm afraid I don't know anything to help you with.
If you need help perhaps you could be specific on what is wrong with your system and your Norton product in particular.

You are right. I was rambling. You did help and i hope you got the created you deserve. I do have a specific question but i can start a new thread if you like. Do you think it would harm my new PC if I turn on home shariring, connect to my infected lap top, in an attempt to access my two existing downloads avaiabile Nortam Internet Sequrity 2012, or is accessing those downloads via the home sharing not even a optiion to be conciderd? It will not download it and the DVD/CD drive is nonresponsive. I have tryd to download a free trial vertion , but any and all attempts to gain anti virus are shut down by the microsoft essentials ink scanner just previous to running the programs. Thank You Tim.

Tim,
I wish you'd break up into paragraphs using ENTER twice (this editor doesn't do that automatically) !!!
Firstly if you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed and active you don't want to try to install another interactive security program so that's probably why you can't download.
I would not even think of trying to get anything from the "infected" computer -- but what infected it? McAfee is not an infection -- when we can give you a download source.
Here's what I would do:
On your new computer download this file and SAVE if to a place where you can find it.
New NIS 2012:
Click on this link -- NIS 2012 This will download a single file of around 100MB which you should save on your hard drive where you can use it again if necessary -- Do not select Run but use Save when asked and remember where you put it!
Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials using the normal Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Restart your computer
Go to where you saved the installation file for NIS 2012 and if you have VISTA or Windows 7 right mouse click on that file and select Run as Administrator which will start the installation and then follow the on screen instructions.
I don't remember exactly what goes on about activation with the KEY but if you do not have a written record of the KEY you used on the other machine you will be able to get it from your MyNortonAccount or if you point the installation to that account it may get it automatically.
If it asks you to create a Norton Account make sure you use the same email address and login password as the one you used before where the information for your subscription is held.
When the installation is finished, run LiveUpdate manually a few times with a restart inbetween until it tells you that you are fully uptodate.
If there's a problem with the activation don't worry but just let it stay as a trial for the moment and let us know.
If that is what you want to achieve then there should be no problem but you know where to find us ....

Hi! It doesn't seem to be a problem with Facebook as the website can load up on Chrome as you mentioned. I guess it has something to do with IE settings. You can clean up the cookies etc. And reset IE to factory defaults. Depending on your IE version, you may have different options but check this. (Meanwhile close the prompt asking you to download the McAfee)
Open IE> click Tools> Internet Options. In the Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and then at the bottom click the Reset button. Before you click Reset, make sure there are not other IE windows opened on the screen.
On the Reset IE settings screen, select the Delete personal settings check box and then click Reset. IE will now begin to reset the settings to default. When done, IE will prompt you to restart. Close the IE window and reopen it. Try to load up the Facebook website. If the page still does not load up, open your antivirus and update it with the latest updates. Try loading Facebook afterwards.
