Hi both from the UK,

I'm having problems with my computer which keeps coming up with boxes saying the above error messgae followed by lots of random letters.dll. I have NIS but when I scan it appears to be working but total items scanned remains at zero. My friend suggested searching google for an answer and I came across this board and the both of you seem to be miracle workers.

I am completely computer illiterate (my friend had to set this account up for me!!) so please go easy if you have any time to help.

BTW - will be on the affected computer this evening at about 8.30 GMT (3.30 ET) if that helps.

Please download SysProt here http://homepages.slingshot.co.nz/~crutches/SysProt and run it.

Choose the Log tab and select all the items in the Write to log box. Then select Create Log to start scanning. When it is done, a message window will appear with the location of the log file.

Please attach the log file to a post here; the Add Attachments links is below the orange Post button. Thanks

Sorry, tried that but it says that I need Admin rights. I'm using Vista if that helps

Right click on the SysProt.exe file and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.  Thanks.

I hope that I'm not being a dizzy blonde but I've clicked on the link, right clicked on the sysprot.exe file and the only options are open/open in new tab/open in new window/save target as/print target/copy shortcut/blog/email/translate/all accelerators/add to fav/properties

No context menu

Right click on the exe file again and Select Properties.  Under the Compatibility tab, check the box in the Privilege Level for Run as administrator.  Then click Apply and OK.  Then double click the file to run it.  Follow the rest of the directions in the orginal post.  Thanks.

I'm so sorry but when I press properties I don't get the box that you get. I only have a General tab with protocol/type and address in it. No other tabs at the top

Thanks....if you can sort this then I owe you both a drink if you ever come to the UK (I presume that you are in the US!) :)
