My Motorola SBG900 wireless modem firewall was preventing me from downloading my emails to outlook so I turned it off.  I have heard one should not have 2 firewalls running and my Norton firewall is on, so am I protected?

Please tell us exactly what Norton product you are using and version level under Support -> About.

For proper operation, the only realtime AV/FW software on your computer should be NIS (or 360) and not anything else. As for the SBG900 Gateway are you using it with it's own hardware firewall and router enabled, or just the hardware firewall disabled and router enabled?

There's a few ways that your local LAN can be configured and I would like to know your entire setup in order to guide you in the right direction. Please reply back with all of the requested information and we can go from there.
