Pretty much a newbie here.... and I've looked through the messages and can't find anything to answer my question. I just got a new PC with Windows 7 and I have almost 300 days left on my 2009 NIS subscription, but it's for XP. Is it possible to get this transered into my new PC? I hate losing all the time that's left on my subscription but I can't figure out how to do it.And of course it won't let me install from the original disc and then run Live Update.
Can any one help?
Thanks

Hello Joni49
Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum
Since you have Win 7 now, you have to use NIS 2010. Since you have a valid license for NIS 2009, you can use that key to activate NIS 2010 and it should pick up your left over days. You have to uninstall NIS from your old computer first unless you have a license for more than one computer. Please save your key and also your Identity safe information.
You can download 2010 NIS from here

Please remember to run live update after install to make sure all updates are received and then please reboot.
Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks and good luck with your new computer.

Hmmm...well, it did allow me to download NIS 2010 but only let me have a 15 day trial. It said I had exceeded the number of PC I could install it on that product key. Not sure I understand that...My old PC was the only other PC it was on and I uninstalled it as you said I needed to do.
Any suggestions?

Hi Joni49,
In this case, you have to contact Symantec Customer Support - you can chat with them for free at the link below - and explain the situation to them, and they should be able to reset your activations for you:

Please keep your Norton product key handy, as Customer Support will probably ask you to provide it for the resetting process.

You can contact customer support using free chat. They are the ones who can straighten out subscription issues and activation. Please have your key handy and tell them what you have done. They should be able to fix it up for you.
