Moving NIS2009 license to a different PC

Hello,

Is it possible to move a license from one PC to another?  If so is there a standard procedure documented in a FAQ?  Any help with this will be appreciated - thanks!

Yes, you can move a license from one PC to another. You need to uninstall the Norton program from first computer before installing it on the other computer. Make sure that you have the product key for the licensed Norton program before uninstall. You may need it for activating the program in other computer. Also, uninstall the previous versions from the computer before installation.

Kindly check the option "I have already installed my Norton 2009 product on the total number of multi user licenses that I have" from this Symantec Support Article for more information. As you need to move the license from one computer to another, I think that is more appropriate.

Re: Moving NIS2009 license to a different PC

You can use NIS 2009 version on three PCs. If you have installed it only on one PC, then no need to uninstall the Norton product from the first computer.

Check the following document for more information.

Thanks for the link.  The process is straightforward and I appreciate having it confirmed beforehand.

Yes, I understand.  I have it installed on 3 PC's at the moment, but even if I did not I would want to recover the key

from the first computer so I would have the option to use it elsewhere.

I guessed that :smileywink: and that's why I informed you to check the option "I have already installed my Norton 2009 product on the total number of multi user licenses that I have" in that link. Customer Services through Online Chat is accessable at any time you need.
