NAV 2009 Uninstall/Install Loop

I recently took advantage of an offer to upgrade to NAV2009. The installation program removed my old version (NAV 2006), installed NAV 2009 and every thing was fine. The next time I rebooted the computer, I got a dialog box asking me whether I wanted to perform a Custom Uninstall or a Complete Uninstall. I cancelled the box and went on with my business. Now everytime I reboot the computer I get the message asking me to uninstall.

One time I chose the Custom Uninstall option and let the program uninstall and then re-install all over again. That did not help. I still get the uninstall dialog box everytime I boot. Has anyone encountered this behavior before?

The PC is a ThinkPad T60 running Windows XP SP3. The only other security software is Webroot spysweeper.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: NAV 2009 Uninstall/Install Loop

Spy Sweeper and NIS 2009 do not get along. There are other threads about this and you do not need Spy Sweeper since you have NIS 2009. Uninstall Spy Sweeper. Reboot. Uninstall NIS. Reboot. Run the Norton Removal Tool. Reboot. Install NIS 2009.

Real Time Protection = NIS 2009 + NAT
Behavior Analysis = Threatfire
On Demand = MBAM
