So far today, NAV2009 is working fine. So I'm concluding that the 16.5.0.134 release does fix the shared disk access problem. Before the patch the problem would show up within several hours at most. We've gone 2.5 days now without seeing any of the previous symptoms.
I agree. The 16.5.0.134 version of NAV2009 solves this problem (at least for us).
However, as mentioned in this thread, the patch seems to be pushed/downloaded sporadically and unpredictably. For some of our computers, it was pushed/downloaded weeks ago. For others, even if I click "Live Update" 20 times, it says there are no new updates available (even though it hasn't downloaded 16.5.0.134 yet). This issue seems to be independent of the location of the computer (some computers in same physical location, others in different locations), IP address (some are going through the same router and switch, others are in different physical locations), license key (some computers use the same multi-computer license key, others use individual ones), connection method (wireless or not), etc. Every week, it seems that 0-4 of our computers are randomly updating themselves (you can tell because it reinstalls/refreshes the NAV2009 desktop icon and Start Menu items everytime it upgrades to a new version), and there seems to be no pattern to it at all. ![]()

Sorry for my update, I am not agree that the problem resolved.
I buy last week NIS2009 and install it on T61 with Win XP + SP3. (Thenotebook restores the windows and format the HD i.e. clean install). I downloadthe last version. The 16.5.0.135 version of NAV2009 did not solve thisproblem.
I cannot open the hard disk by double click!!!. it is still blocked.
at first I was complete surprise, Ifound this forum from Google. (Look for solution)
I am waiting for real solution.

In my case, I have 2 machines run NIS2009 with al the patches, Vista and XP. I can connect to the Vista machine from the XP machine. The Vista has IRPStackSize of 16. When I try to connect to the XP machine from the Vista machine, no luck. Even with the IRPStackSize set at decimel = 40, no luck.
Any ideas?
thanks

DHS13,
Are you able to connect at all? This thread was for shares that were connected and then lost connectivity. If you aren't able to connect to the share at all, then it may be a firewall configuration and you should start a new topic.

Hi -
That might be a good idea -
Seems that there are too many cooks in the kitchen.
A specific new thread would make sense.
