I added a password to NAV so a password is needed to enter the settings, but it seems like there is some slowness in the GUI so if i type the password too fast it's not accepted and NAV claim i used the incorrect password. I know that i type the correct passord and never had this problem using NAV 2011 and also use the same passord for other apps as well without this problem. So this is not a problem with my keyboard, caps lock or some other simple mistake. It's pretty annoying. My password contains numbers and letters (both uppercase and lowercase) only if that should be relevant.
I use Windows 7 Enterprise x64 and NAV 2012. The computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad W520 with a Quad Core CPU, 16gb RAM and a Intel 510 SSD so there should not be a performance problem because of the hardware. Also i don't have any such issues with any other application and neither when i used NAV 2011.

Hi Gan,
Did you install NAV 2012 on top of NAV 2011 without uninstalling it(as an upgrade)?
Do you have any other firewall or security product installed?
At this point of time, I would suggest to try just a complete uninstall/reinstall using the Norton Removal Tool: http://www.symantec.com/nrt
Hope you have the NAV 2012 installation file for reinstalling it soon after running the Norton Removal Tool. Please keep us updated with the results.

Hi Harry and thank you for your reply, yes i did upgrade (install NAV 2012 without uninstalling 2011) like i have done earlier from 2009 to 2010 and 2010 to 2011. I do not have any other security software installed. I use the Windows firewall and no other antivirus, antispyware or other similar software installed. I do not see any other slowness when using NAV or any other software on my computer.
I can try to uninstall using the Norton removal tool even if i doubt there is something wrong with the NAV installation on my computer. I will post the results as soon as i tried to uninstall/reinstall. I do have the installation file for 2012.

Sorry for the late reply, but i tried to complete uninstall using Norton removal tool and then a reinstall and didn't solve my problem. It's not really a big deal...just have to type the passord a bit slower it seems.

Hi gan,
I will do some testing with this tomorrow on my test laptop and let you know the results. This should work, NAV should be able to keep up.
The bigger concern in my mind was what about those who have really complicated passwords which is really cumbersome to type in by hand. In that situation one might need to do a copy/paste operation which is probably going to go in faster than you typing by hand. If there is a problem where you can type fast enough by hand to have this happen then a copy/paste would almost certainly have a problem as well.
If I am able to reproduce the problem as well (showing that it is not just one user or computer) then I think Symantec should look into it.
I'll update this thread once I run the test.
Best wishes.
Allen
