Files which Norton insight shows as good or better nevertheless keep being quarantined by NAV auto scan or manual scan.
Latest example, today: exact Audio Copy' install file eac-0.99pb5.exe which Norton flight insight marks
as many users, mature and good, but I have repeatedly had to restore it from quarantine from autoscan activity (also from a full system scan). I have now excluded it from scan.
It has been on my PC for quite some time so it must be a recent update of the virus definitions that is doing this.
There have been several other .exe install files that have received the same false treatment over the past week or so.. Until this is resolved I have no useful choice but to turn off Heuristics (which was on automatic.
Case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing :-).

Hi JRosenfeld,
Did you submit the files as false positives to Symantec? You either do so via your Norton product (in Quarantine) or you can use this form:

Yes I submitted it.
But I wish that Norton file insight and heuristics were mutually consistent.

Well, I guess an over-vigilant scanner is still better than an under-vigilant one... ;-)

Yeah? And I guess a program that works correctly is still better than Norton.... ;-)
