Hello, I have noticed a couple of "welcome to nginx" threads here and recall getting that message myself a couple of times last week when I tried to use yahoo search.  I just closed the window and used another search engine when that happened.  Computer has been working fine and scans by NIS and Malwarebytes have turned up negative for anything other then cookies.  I am a little nervous now though and was wondering if there is another scan that I could use to make sure my computer isn't infected by anything?

Hi Aivars1234,

Try these steps :

If you are getting the message it is because there was a problem with the site you were trying to visit and it is now stuck in your cache.

For firefox:

Hi there :) thanks for your reply.  Cache has been cleared and everything looks fine. 

 I have NIS 2012 as main protection and Malwarebytes as the on-demand, is there any other scanner I can/should get to make sure nothing slips through those two scanners?

Hi Aivars1234,

Thank you for letting us know that your issue is resolved.

Just that you have the latest NIS and Malware bytes keep doing the scans in regualar intervels...even though the NIS does the quick scans itself  every day I suggest to do a Full System Scan at least once a week and as I have said you can clear all the temp files from your system once in a month.

Please close this thread so that other people who have the same issue can be helped to fix there issues.

Hi-I have been hit with nginx! redirect malware as well. It is much more serious, and the solution far more complex, than your response indicated. I suggest you look at bleepingcomputer.com, go to forums, security, then "am I infected" and search for nginx. That will give you a flavor for the magnitude of the problem. Removing nginx is tremendously tedious, time consuming, frustrating, etc. I am at the point where I am seriously thinking of giving up and reinstalling Windows. I wish the solution was only 10X as difficult as your suggestion instead of 1000X. Tks and regards, Richard
