I just purchased a new HP laptop and installed my second (of three) licenses for NIS 2008 on it. I have run Live Update a dozen times and cannot get the "At Risk" button to recognize that NIS 2008 has, in fact, been updated. NIS 2008 even states that it's up to date, but the "At Risk/Fix It" button disagrees. On reboot I also get a popup telling me that my defs are out of date.
I believe there was a trial version of a Symantec security product on the machine when I first booted it up, but I thought installing NIS 2008 would remove that. I'm not sure if this could be causing some soprt of conflict, but I thought I'd include the info anyway.
I have UAC turned off and I am using Vista Home Premium 64.

Hi TQ,
For the benefit of others who may be experiencing the same problem, what solution did you use to resolve this issue?
Thanks,

Sorry, I should have mentioned that.
Essentially, an option presented itself when I reinstalled NIS 2007 that I didn't follow through on during the first install on my Vista64 machine.
A window popped up that stated "this program" had issues with Vista. I then had the option to follow a link to see what the problem was or to run it anyway.
I figured I could install it, then use Live Update to update to NIS 2008, which was a "free" update given to me by Symantec a few months into my NIS 2007 subscription. Reasoning that would resolve any issue I might have with Vista I forged ahead.
That's when I began to have the issue I described.
The way I resolved it was to choose door number one and go to Symantec's website and follow the instructions to fix it.
That entailed installing (as instructed) NISO7RT and the "fixcallback" application.
Only problem I have now is I seem to be stuck using NIS 2007 instead of NIS 2008, as it didn't update to the newer version during the install process.
I started a new thread on that.
