Hello,
Ok hey everyone, so I wondering if anyone can answer this question I have. So I bought a laptop last year along with Norton Internet Security 2009. The subscription is about to expire, so I was wondering since the norton came for 3 Pcs, if i would be able to install it once again on my same computer once it expires, and then if I could just upgrade to a newer version for free, 2010 or 2011, and if that upgrade would last for the whole year or if its just a trial of some kind. Or do I need to buy 2010? Thanks a lot, I would really appreciate any insight.

HI Mattalca
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums
The "clock" for all 3 activations started when you activated for the first time so you would now need to renew the whole thing. Once renewed you can upgrade for free to 2010 or 2011 products

Hey, thanks for the welcome and reply. Ok I get you, so I'll get NIS 2010 and then upgrade to 2011. Thanks again.

You can always Re-New your Subscription for Norton 2009 from the symantec Online Store, and then Upgrade to N.I.S. 2011 via the Norton Update Center. Hope this was helpful.

Hello
It is not advisable to upgrade to version 2011 directly over 2009. Add/Remove or it's equivalent should be used first, then you can install the new version.. If there are any problems with the install, then Add/Remove or it's equivalent, Norton Removal Tool and then install of the new product. All of this should be done after saving Identity Safe file just in case and also be aware that NRT willl remove all Norton products.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
