NIS 2010 and Spyware Doctor 7.0.0.508 don't work well together.

Even though both are Symantec products there are incompatabilities.  Scheduled scans can kick off and if it's doing 'pulse update' after being off for a while the power button will get a workout.  Hoping PCT and Symantec fix this as it has potential to be a great combo IMO.

Hi

Spyware Doctor and Symantec products haven't worked well together for some time. However, maybe it would work better if you turned off spyware doctor completely and reboot your system. Then when you want to scan with it, turn it on and do the scan and then turn it off again. Perhaps you might have to disable NIS while you are running spyware doctor and then enable it again after you have finished running spyware doctor. The main problem with having these 2 programs is that they are really both made to run as real time programs.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

I used SD for years with a mixture of other programs. It became so bloted and resorce grabing I gave up. I tried NIS and even with its own problems found it trasformed my PC's. So it may not just be SD and Norton it was SD and a range of other security programs I found it caused problems with and with each it was SD that was the common issue.
