Re: NIS 2010 keeps deleting a file without the option to exclude it.

Its a software not a thinking creature man.

It will only exclude the files and path u specify. If it starts to exclude the extracted files from a rar in temp folder, then huge amount of viruses will attack like hell.

add the file yourself or go into settings and exclude the signature/ program from the list. It's not hard

Re: NIS 2010 keeps deleting a file without the option to exclude it.

Actually, it works like it should. Temp directories can be dangerous if allowed to run these types of files. I see your point now. If I want to run the program from inside the zip. I can just disable the auto-protect temporarily. That makes more sense now that I think about it. Although, I have excluded the Nirsoft directory from both scans and auto-protect. That will keep the zip files from being deleted in system scans. What I saw earlier was Produkey in the signature exclusion list. The program was NirSoft's ProductKey and I didn't realize it was excluding the whole Produkey signature. Not a good idea. I deleted that from the signature exclusion list also. That was what gave me the option to add, not the other. Sorry for the confusion.
