NIS 2010 - might be bug in Exclusion Scan

Was on with two levels of support showing that NIS 2010 won't accept just a file name in Scan Exclusions.  Tech told me you cannot just put in a file name.... Until I had them look at the HELP showing that you can.  I was told they would call back within 48 hours.

Re: Norton Internet Security 2010 - bug

I talked to two levels of support explaining that NIS 2010 won't accept just a file name in Scan Exclusions.  Both techs told me you cannot just put in a file name.......until I had them look at their own HELP area giving an example that you can.  I was then assured that a tech would check to see if the "problem" has been fixed and would call me back within 48 hours.

No call.

Anyway to call a 2nd or 3rd level tech Stateside?

Aaaron111,

You are posting in the wrong thread; you have already opened a thread on this issue, which is non-related to this one.

EDIT:  your post has been split off from the non-related thread and merged with your thread mentioned above. Please continue posting over here. Thanks :-)

Re: NIS 2010 - might be bug in Exclusion Scan

I reported this last week.  A Symantec employee posted that they'll look into it.

Re: NIS 2010 - might be bug in Exclusion Scan

Sorry Morac - I did not notice the previous posting when I searched.

Just a note - when I finally got hold of 2nd level support stateside, they knew nothing about it - they gave me the same line as overseas support that you "cannot" enter a file name - no matter how many times I refered them to the HELP file.  Then they said the HELP was wrong.

I asked how we exclude 12 files written 200 times on a single system (times 34 systems we are installing)

I got a call back an hour later agreeing it was a bug!!
