I'm doing a report for school and am looking for some information. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Does Norton Internet Security 2011 for Windows scan for threats on the following platforms.
Mac OS threats (before OS X)
Mac OS X threats
Linux threats
Unix threats
Windows Mobile threats
Android OS threats
Windows 2000/ME threats
Windows 95/98 threats
Windows 3.1 threats
MS DOS threats
Palm OS threats
WebOS threats
BlackBerry OS threats
What file systems can it scan/what can't it scan?
Also, is NIS 2011 always scanning for threats constantly, non stop(like I think Avast does) or do you have to manually scan or wait for an idle time scan?
Is non stop, constant scanning called "active" and manual scanning is called "passive"? If not what are the names?
Thanks in advance :)

Conflicker,
Do a little research yourself here on the Norton website where you can find specific versions and their operating system compatibility then check System Requirements for more details.
Then come back and ask the unanswered questions ....

That doesn't help. Reread my post.

Hello conficker
Part of doing homework is learning how to do research. You can find most of the answers by looking around the Norton website. and also by looking at the different sections of the forum.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Norton Internet Security scans only for threats, related to the Windows Operating System. The complete set of definitions scans for all threats, even the one that are older, while the smart set of definitions contains only the threats that are still active and somewhere on the Web.
