NIS 2012 problem with buffor of online videos

Hello.
On one of the two notebooks since yesterday I have installed NIS 2012. The problem which is struggling with a lack of buffering videos online.

The problem is that both Chrome, Opera, Firefox, buffer only part of the movie. KIS 2011 with the same settings in browsers can buffor the entire movie.

How to change the setting in your browser to be able to NIS2012 buffor movie without restrictions?

Hi wolenpl:

Welcome to the Norton Forums!

Why do you think that NIS 2012 is involved here?

There isn't a user defined setting for video buffering in NIS.

Please tell us the specs (both hardware and software) of both systems.

Include the type of internet browser, too.

Thanks!

I came to this conclusion because

1st. Another computerwith KIS2011 buffer films in their entirety

2nd. A computer with NIS 2012 did not buffer

3rd. Web bronswer in both computers have the same settings 4th. I've tested this on two ISP both at the same time, as well as individually.

So I do not know what else could cause this problem!?

First computer:

Toshiba Satellite Pro

MS Vista 32bit

Kaspersky Internet Security 11.0.2.556

Shockwave Flash 11.0 r1

Secend computer: Sony Vaio EB

MS Seven 64bit

Norton Internet Security 2012 (Current, recent, stable version. The version number does not give right now, because I do not have here the of this machine here.

On both computer:

Opera 11.52

Chrome 14.0.835.186

Firefox 7.0.1

Any ideas?

Hi wolfenpl:

By what method are you watching these videos, i.e. in the browser, external player, etc.

Have you tried IE?

Re: NIS 2012 problem with buffer of online videos

Hi wolfenpl:

The way I would go about it, is to have both systems as identical in Software, as possible.

This includes your choice of Security protection. Once we can compare like systems it would be easier to diagnose.

Please make sure that Flash and Shockwave are at the same revision levels.

Perhaps you can do that and let us know.

Cheers.

Hi wolfenpl,

In NIS, turn on Silent Mode to suppress Norton's background tasks which may be competing for system resources and causing your buffering problem.

Re: NIS 2012 problem with buffer of online videos

Hi wolfenpl:

I would also suggest turning off Idle Time Optimizer under Settings -> General -> Norton Tasks,

if it is found that enabling Silent Mode helps the situation. Can't say for sure right now, but it looks

like some System resources are maxing out with the video stream. Another idea is to look at the

CPU usage meter under the Advanced Screen of NIS 2012.

BTW - How much RAM is in each system?

Let us know.

Thanks.
