Strange. NIS 19.6.1.8 is working fine on my lenovo T410 Win7 Pro x64 SP1. I am current with all MS and lenovo updates.
Although, since there is probably hardware differences between the models, there may also be different drivers loaded.

Lenovo...
I wonder if it could be related to the issue reported here:

Dear SendOfJive,
You are "Guru" for a reason. Yes, as you suspected, disabling the Lenovo RapidBoot has solved my NIS issue. I literally had spent 6-7 hours on what you just solved for me in 5 minutes! THANKS!!! I can now go outside and enjoy what's left of a beautiful 70 degree Fahrenheit day!

My T410 doesn't have RapidBoot either, so that's why I don't have a problem with NIS 2012. ![]()

Actually, all the credit goes to yank, who has been on top of the RapidBoot problem with Norton 360 and Norton Security Suite. I just happened to have read his posts about the issue.

Fotis,
Its better to remove the online armor firewall, because NIS also have Firewall engine. there are chances that both might conflict one another and NIS stops responding after that.
As well follow the Step below if the issue is not resolved after removing Armor firewall.
In windows 7 search command prompt right click and run as Administrator and run "FLTMC" (without quote) to identity thirdparty product or which driver is conflicting.
Post it if you found any conflicts ( if possible a screenshot would do)
