I installed 2013 2 weeks ago , but today NIS needed a restart to apply new virus definitions , and when my system restarted i found on my desktop the NIS Download manager and Installation files , and then NIS tried to install itself again , even though my NIS 2013 is working fine . I Cancelled the reinstallment anyway .
Any ideas why this has happened ??
edit - I restarted my system again - then NIS decided to reactivate itself and now it seems ok . Anyone else encountered this ??

Hi,
a new patch was recently added to the live update servers, which needs a reboot to be installed.
The current version of your product should be now version 20.2.0.19.
You should check it on the Support -> About window.

But why did it NIS 2013 have to reactivate itself even though it was activated allready ??

Ian,
It would bve wise to check your MyNortonAccount and see if that unexpected by you reactivation changed the number of activations used. It should not since the system often recognizes it is on the same hardware and why it is reinstalling but .... things happen.
If it has used up an activation the Norton OnLine Support Team will reset that quickly and painlessly if you contact them by the CHAT route as below that uses the computer keyboard and not the phone:
To contact customer support Click on this link https://www.norton.com/chat and work on from there.
Please let us know how you get on ....
