This topic is not drawing any attention from the monitors. Is this the usual response from Norton?

Hi,

I'm not quite sure I understand your comment. The names in bold red letters are Norton employees. Who or what monitors are you looking for? Perhaps there's contect you think shouldn't be here? If so, click on the options in the upper right corner of the message and select the last item and notify a moderator.

Otherwise, how can we help you?

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

Reloading and updating is not solving this issue and that is all that I have seen suggested so far. If this is a bug in NIS 2012 I would like to know if it is being worked on and when it might be solved. Prior to the last updates ID Safe worked fine.

I'm now running NIS v19.5.0.145 on Vista and I still have these issues. Rather than attempt to address them all at once, however, I'll describe them one at a time and see what reaction I get before moving on to another.

Identity Safe Issue !

--------------------------

I have Display my Identity Cards each time I visit a page with fillable form ticked within my Identity Safe Web settings but, if I bring up a fillable form whilst logged into my profile, I am not presented (the way I was with NIS 2011) with a list of my available Identity Cards so that I can select the one to be used. I have, instead, to click on my Identity Safe toolbar and select the card I want from within Fill with Identity Card. Is this the correct current behaviour? I'm struggling somewhat with the NIS online manual :smileymad:.

Hi,

This option seems working fine for us and other users too. Can you please let us know if this is the behavior with all the form pages & all browsers? And one more thing is, just try refreshing the page and then check if the "Fill Form" infobar is presented to you. It might be some issue with the page getting refreshed properly.

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

[ Edited ]

Hello, i think i discovered a minor bugs about Identity Safe, especially for Vbulletin-based internet forums ..

when i'm logging in, Identity Safe keeps popping up & asking me to "Save new password for login" even though i didn't change my password, both on the forum & on the Identity Safe, and it did successfully logging in to my account too..

And i'm currently a moderator on a local forum, right before start moderation actions i have to verify my legitimacy by providing my password again, now i have to type my password manually (on previous versions of NIS, autofill does the actions).

besides the Vbulletin forums, Identitiy Safe also showing me a foreign characters (Japanese, i think) as my login info on random sites, i can make sure that's not my login infos ..

NIS 2012 19.5.0.145

Chrome 17.0.963.46 m (Norton Identity Protection 2012.5.0.140)

Mozilla Firefox 10 (Norton Toolbar 2012.6.0.1 & Norton Vulnerability Proctection 10.1.0.68 -1)

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

I'm trying to use the latest feature of Identity safe that allows syncing information between two or more computers. I setup the first computer (using Windows 7 norton ver 19.5.0.145) and was successful adding information into the cloud using my Norton account. I then setup the second computer (using Windows xp Norton ver 19.5.0.145) and signed in using the same password. Everything seems to be working great, but now I make a change on the second computer's web login information (changed a password that was incorrect). I signed back on the first computer and signed back on to Identity safe (cloud) and looked to see if the password had been updated. It has not. Why? How often does it sync? Is there any documentation that explains the syncing process? Thanks

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

Hi Cookto1,

Can you please just try logging out of Identity safe and logging again in the first computer? Obviously it should sink without even logging out of identity safe but just want you to try if its getting synced that way. Please try and let us know.

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

Identity Safe Issue 1 (Durdle) .... This thread is getting crowded :smileymad:

I suspect, but I am by no means sure, that this issue might well be resolved now. Maybe, I should have another Live Chat session and let someone look at it all.

Hi

1 I tried a couple of UK account registration forms (Boots the Chemist and Halfords) today and they didn't auto fill either (but see point 4 below).

2 I have a fairly recent version of Firefox, purely for emergency use in the event of a catastrophic IE failure. When I launched this today, I got a small (Norton?) window recommending I turn off the browsers internal page fill facility (I had never previously seen this on either Firefox or IE). I clicked Yes and tried an account registration page - it didn't auto fill but I could use the brand new (to me) Norton Fill Form infobar OK. I can't tell you which version of Firefox I have because I can't find its Help button. Where the heck is it?

3 Until I tried Firefox today, I had never seen the full Identity Safe toolbar (ie the black one incorporating the Fill Form infobar and going right across the screen); I had previously been clicking on the small Identity Safe icon on the blue IE toolbar which holds Norton, Norton Safe Search, Safe Web and Identity Safe options and my Google Search functions. Should this icon even be there now?

4 The new black Fill Form infobar now also shows on IE9 whenever I bring up a fillable form, which is at least a step in the right direction (if not actually representative of how things are meant to work).

5 I've had page filling issues throughout my use of NIS 2012 and IE9 but I'm not sure which of these apps actually introduced it.

6 Incidentally, I have reported auto fill problems with a past version of NIS but these were resolved by my recovering forms from scratch rather than refreshing them. By this, I mean that if I successfully submitted a competition form and wanted to autofill a new entry, I couldn't just use the IE Back key to return to the competition page, I had to bring it up anew from my favourites list.

Sorry if this is all somewhat confusing. I'm used to working with forums where I can attach screen shots to illustrate situations where I dont fully understand the terminology. You don't seem to have this option here.

Re: NIS 22012 Identity Safe issues

I have definitely have logged out several times on both machines, this morning's surprise was all my web login info was gone. Credit card info was still there.

Lucky I had saved a complete backup before and tried to import. It indicated that the import was successful, but still no web login information visibleSo I deleted all data and recreated the cloud login and reloaded again and this time it worked and all information is back. Wow

I can't tell you which version of Firefox I have because I can't find its Help button. Where the heck is it? - The first small pop-up which you saw the password manager alert. Since we have the inbuilt password manager in our product, we would like to get the user concern for disabling the browser's password manager. This option was introduced only in our 2012 products.

- From our 2012 products, the appearence of the infobars are changed. It would appear like a black bar with optiions like the one you saw for the fill form. The identity safe icon will still be available in the toolbar like the one earlier. Safeweb,Safe search & identity safe icons will still be available.

4 The new black Fill Form infobar now also shows on IE9 whenever I bring up a fillable form, which is at least a step in the right direction (if not actually representative of how things are meant to work) - Fill form infobar should be appearing for all the form pages, if you have any issues, please use the "Report Issue" option available under the Identity safe drop down from the toolbar. That will notify the issues to us and we will be attending to it.

5 I've had page filling issues throughout my use of NIS 2012 and IE9 but I'm not sure which of these apps actually introduced it - As told in point 4, please use the report issue option at those cases and you can also post a thread here in this forum stating this issue. We have our forum admin's and colleagues monitoring this forum and we will follow up on those kind of issues.

6 Incidentally, I have reported auto fill problems with a past version of NIS but these were resolved by my recovering forms from scratch rather than refreshing them.
