NIS Identity Protection plugin strange behaviour in IE and Chrome.

[ Edited ]

Hi,

just noticed that NIS Identity Plugin after 7-8 hours of work start to behave oddly.

I have Win7 64bit system with Chrome and IE9 installed used simultaneously most of the time - Norton Identity Protection 2012.5.2.6 plugin installed and enabled. After a few hours of work (and as I suppose Chrome many times closed and opened again) this plugin causes both browser to behave strange.

Launch and first open of the URL (or multiple URLs, no matter it is Chrome or IE, no matter it is local or WAN URL) causes browser to freeze, if You're patient enough it opens the URL after 2-3 minutes and then everything works fine (next pages are opening fine), as long as You do not close the browser and open it again.

If You open IE and Chrome at the same time and each tries to open the page both freezes for those 2-3 minutes than load successfully at the same time. In such "unstable" state if plugin is disabled in either browser it works fine. If You reboot the system - it also works fine as long as it won't happen again. Keeping open/close chrome to minimum prolongs the effect to appear...

Any ideas? A little bit annoying as most of the time it works fine until... not :-)

Re: NIS Identity Protection plugin strange behaviour in IE and Chrome.

Hi Daareek,

Not sure this info will help you or not.  I do not run CHROME, however I noticed my IE 9 has Norton Identity Protection as version 2012.5.3.7 ( File date April 18, 2012) and the same version and date for the Norton Toolbar plug-in.

My NIS is version 19.7.0.9 - but has beenupdated since the April 18th date, so that probably has nothing to do with it.

Soprry, it's not much help, but perhaps some place to start.

NIS updated today to version 19.7.0.9 (PL language version) plugin version also updated to 2012.5.3.7, I hope this will solve the issue... :-)

Hi,

unfortunately newest version behaves exactly the same way so the problem is not solved ;-(

Any other ideas?
