Re: NIS & NAV 2009 16.5.0.134 Update Roll Call

B.C. Canada.  Have the new version on one computer today, but not the other.  For me it was a bit anticlimactic.  It looks the same

and probably works the same for me although the first time opening Firefox has gotten faster.

Just for info, Norton Safe Web has no problem working side by side with Linkscanner Pro.  They don't always agree on the safety of the

website, though.  One might throw a red X while the other has a green check.  Most of the time they are in agreement.

Under certain circumstances profanity provides relief denied even to prayer.

SE USA.  Downloaded and installed.  Would recommend not to try and install over 16.2 but to uninstall 16.2 and then install 16.5.  This is only for those who don't get it over the live update function; the live update function seems to go well (when its on, that is).

Whats wrong with you? As far as i know Windows Live Mail has built-in anti-spam :s. Unless you use the POP-3 feature then Norton cannot help you!

Re: NIS & NAV 2009 16.5.0.134 Update Roll Call

I finally got it this AM but I had to follow the update link and download it and install it that way. It never did show up in the LiveUpdate. It had installed along side 16.2.0.7 before but never chnaged in the About screen. I was still running the old version. You guys really need to work on the LiveUpdate feature as it is spotty at best at times on upgrades. I hope it gets better before next year's version comes out or you guys might lose all the koodos you have garnered for this year's version.

I suggest everyone checks out jensm's new message -- 03-17-2009 10:32 PM  --  for the situation on the update servers and the patch.

Please check your version ID since they now say the version is 16.5.0.135 -- if you definitely have 134 then I suggest you may get an update to 135 but not necessarily right away. See this message from jensm last night.

Note also that this is for the English language version and that localized versions should come over a few days.

Whats wrong with me ?, I have WindowsMail not Windows Live Mail as you could have read ?

It was/is included with Windows Vista and replaced Outlook as you may know, I cant unmark messages marked by NIS 2009 as Spam as legitamate Email !,thats whats wrong,

Have to make fix myself to put the messages marked by NIS 2009 as Spam to be put Automaticly in the Spam folder, but as mentioned before if NIS 2009 marks a message as Spam and put it in the spam folder which I had to make myself I  cannot unmark it as legitame Email ! and Vica/Versa with Friends !

From what I,ve understanded from the helpdesk the Patch to make Windows Mail compatible was recently made for the 360 Produkt Line,So why not also for NIS 2009 ???

Do you understand now

Check out these messages from jensm over the last 24 hours or so and this may be fixed in the 16.5.0.135 update that has been released. It seems it may still be intermittent on LiveUpdate for server reasons but is available as a full download from the Norton Update Center after which you can install it on top of your present version although there has been one user report of an apparent problem in doing this although the update took place.

Note what jensm says about in effect updating NIS to the N360 V3 stage of engine updates.

Check these messages and others in that thread from jensm's first message:

Hope that helps. I've not checked the changelist to see if deals with VISTA Windows Mail/LiveMail
