Re: Firefox 9 Support

Hi flyingguy,

Norton Online Family is an independent program.  It doesn't matter you have Norton Internet Security installed or not.  The latest Norton Safety Minder patch 2.2.0.43 is compatible with Firefox 9.

Please help me to understand the Logins issue you refer better by providing some details.  Are you having trouble logging onto your Norton Online Family account?

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Firefox 9 Support

Okay, sorry. I am not familiar with the "internet family."

I have Norton Internet Security. When I moved from Firefox browser 3.5 to the new Firefox version 9, my Norton "Identity safe" automatic log-in feature stopped workingy. THAT is what I hoped had been addressed by you (Norton.)

In the mean time I have managed to restore a backup and return to Firefox 3.5. I do want to start using Firefox 9 but not at the expense of loosing the Norton Internet Security log-in feature.

Re: Firefox 9 Support

flyingguy,

The forum is for the product of Norton Online Family.  I'm sorry I don't have the knowledge and authority to help you with the Norton Internet Security question.  I've notified the forum administrator to move your post to an appropriate forum for better exposure.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: NIS and Firefox 9

Having trouble getting FF 9.0.1 to work with NIS2012 on Win7 Ultimate 32 bit. Worked fine on Home Premium. Any thoughts?

I do not have a toolbar enable button in FF.

Thanks Senthil,

Do I have to run the Norton tool bar for the logins feature to work? I don't care for the toolbar.

Thanks - Bruce

Re: NIS and Firefox 9

Hi Tim,

Norton Internet Security 2012 (19.2) Norton Toolbar   2012.2.2.5 (updated version) to have enable button in FF->tools->addons->extension, If you don't have latest version, it means still patch is not applied into your system,

In order to get that patch, please run liveupdate repeatedly  until it shows " your Norton product has latest updates" and reboot whenever it requires.

Once you got the latest version 2012.2.2.5  Go to FF->Tools->Addons->Enable Norton toolbar addons and restart FF

Please find more info from this link

Thanks,

Senthil

Re: NIS and Firefox 9

Dear Senthil,

Thanks for your prompt replies. Is your plan to get logins working without forcing me (and your other users) to use the Norton toolbar? It uses up real estate on my computer screen that I don't want to loose. Using Norton Internet Security with Firefox 3.5 (which I am doing now)  the logins feature does not require the Norton Toolbar.

I have to admit, this reminds me of Yahoo's approach to force on it's users what the programmers feel the users should like. Please excuse my negativity. It's just darned frustrating. I hope Norton will take the ethical approach and restore the logins feature so it will work with Firefox 9 with making us (your customers) have to use the Norton Toolbar.

Sincerely - Captain Bruce
