I am halfway through my two year NIS subscription. It expires in November 2013. Today I tried to update NIS on my netbook and I'm getting a message that my product has expired. My other two computers are OK.
Anyone got any ideas?

Maybe it's the same what happened to me lately, but it was Service Expired issue while Live Updating.
Solution was quick - I opened main window and saw something like Subscription Status Unknown and Check link beside.
I clicked the Check link and NIS connected to the server, and things went fine.
My Subscription Status went back to normal and I could Live Update with no prob.
Looks like for some reason NIS got confused about subscription.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
The suggestions in the previous message should resolve the problem.
It sounds like you were having all the luck and tried to verify your status while the server was busy. If/when it happens again just take a deep breath, relax and give it a minute and try again. Clicking on support -> subscription status forces your copy to call home and verify its status.

Many thanks for your promt replies. Since I last posted I tried the check for updates link and ws invited to download an updated product. I did this and all in now well, although the desktop gadget is missing.
I guess that what I did was a more convoluted way of doing what you suggested. If it happens again I'll try your suggestion. I was thrown a bit as my other two machines are OK, but this netbook is only used infreqently,so maybe the others update when in use.
Thanks again, I'm good now - other than the missing gadget. Has this been discontinued in the latest version?

Yes, the gadget has been deleted in view of Microsoft's prevous warning about gadgets possibly being security risk - also Win 8 does not use gadgets and this updgrade included Win 8 comptabilities.

I though as much. Thanks for the confirmation.
I'm sorted now.
