NIS password manager

Hi,

I'm currently running NIS 2008 on my Vista SP1 and have come to depend on the password manager.  My subscription is up, I have purchased 2009.  I have a question before I do anything,  If I remove 2008 and install 2009 are my passwords saved by norton internally so that I'll be recognized when registering and they will be transferred to 2009, or instead of upgrading should I  keep 2008 and just use the key from 09 to re-activate my 2008 for another year.   I really don't want to have to start over again entering all my passwords.

Re: NIS password manager

Hi Lorig,

You can backup your Identity safe Profile(Password Manager) from NIS 2008, uninstall NIS 2008, install NIS 2009 and restore the same Identity safe Profile to NIS 2009 after installation. If you are installing NIS 2009 over the current NIS 2008, it will automatically save the same settings and restore it after upgradation. You can refer to this Symantec Support Article for backing up the Identity Safe profile in NIS 2008.
