Re: NIS2009 causing BSOD on XP pro SP3 on restart

The 0X00000002 error is coming back on Microsoft support as a conflict with Logitech software.  Do you have an older logitech

keyboard or mouse?  Or have you ever had either of those?

Hi Delphinium,

I've got a Microsoft keyboard and and a Logitech mouse which I'm using at the moment. Also occasionally use a Logitech joystick and Logitech music anywhere USB transmitter.

I will include the Microsoft info on this error.  Hopefully it provides some assistance.

The following is information posted by Mijcar regarding Logitech software.

Be aware that Logitech does not uninstall easily.  It is happy on your computer and wants to spend the rest of eternity there.  Trying to remove it from the registry is dangerous, I have found.  In fact, one of the reasons I originally got Norton Systemworks was to engage in combat with Logitech.  Their registry cleaner was better at removing the artifacts of Logitech than I was.

Lately, I have discovered the following is the best strategy for removing Logitech from anyone's system:

Install the latest Logitech software related to the product.  It will uninstall the previous one (usually, but not always, alas).  Then immediately remove that piece of software.

I had a Saitek joystick at one point in time.  When I installed an update, the software completely took over my Microsoft keyboard and my Logitech mouse.  I had to uninstall the joystick and all the software, run a cleaner and reinstall without the add-on pack disguised as an update.

Let us know if any of this solves your problem.
