Hi All
I have an issue with NIS not being able to complete all its updates,Long story short My beloved ISP slowed down my connection speed about the same time NIS stopped being able to update properly. It now shows I am at risk.....I clicked the fix now but it only downloads a little a bit then says it is incomplete....the missing updates are to do with the internet. (I will make a note and post up the missing ones)
Any ideas how to work around this for the next week? AND am I safe with Norton showing ! plus the red windows shield?
Cheers
I am still on 18.5..0.125,I have not applied any hotfixs to do with the FF issues...I am waiting for that to be sorted on its own and hope none of this is connected to that issue. To have NIS2011 not working and to be slowly crawling around the net is not fun at all.
These are the non downloaded updates 11.02mb it only gets to 154kb then that is it

Hello!
I would try to manually download the Liveupdate package, run it, and see if that updates your definitions to the current set:
http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response
Download the link nearest the top in orange (begins with 20110...). Keep in mind that your slow connection may limit how quickly the file's downloaded, but the main issue may come from a corrupt or incomplete download of the Liveupdate package, which when applied, caused it to error out. Is Norton displaying an error message or throwing up One Click Support? If so, does the error message contain the module number 8920 or 8921?

No errors or one click support messages it is just as if NIS had no internet connection for 3 days then goes into Red ! alert mode.
I still think even with a slowed down connection it should be able to download its own Defs?
Thanks for the input about the live update package.
Just on a side note Malwarebytes can be updated manually in 6MB increments.
