NIS2012 slow to load.

I have NIS2012 on my acer laptop.I notice that it is slow to load (get the norton icon in the systemtray.) I had this before with NIS 2010 and was advised to click the early load in the settings.I cannot find early load in NIS 2012.Can someone tell me how to fix this.

Re: NIS2012 slow to load.

Settings -> Computer -> Real Time Protection -> Set "Enable Boot Time Protection" to Normal or Aggressive.

Re: NIS2012 slow to load.

Thanks for your prompt reply.I've tried your suggestion and it has actually made my start up times worse.I'll try it again a few times in the evening and I'll let you know what happens.

Re: NIS2012 slow to load.

Hi learner44,

If your issue is the delay in the appearance of the Norton icon in the system tray, then Bombastus' advice to set the Norton Boot Time setting to "Aggressive" should make the icon appear sooner, since all components of Norton will load earlier in the boot sequence.  However, this setting will slow down the overall system boot time because Auto-Protect loads sooner and will scan more files during system startup.  Setting the Boot TIme Protection allows the user to find a good balance between early protection and system startup times.

Re: NIS2012 slow to load.

Hi SendofJive I've got my boot time set to "aggressive" and it will still boot before the icon shows up, I've also set it to " normal" and sometimes it won't load at all, However this problem could be an ISP problem even so I have broadband speeds., However again it loads fine under " Aggressive"....Thanks, Gorpy1

Thank God for people that can help!!!

Re: NIS2012 slow to load.

I'd like to thank everyone for their advice.I've set it to normal as a compromise.
