Re: NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2009 VS AVAST PROFESSIONAL VS Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware version 1.40

Hi Arfan,

It is known that both Avast Pro Edition is having real time protection against Spyware and virus attacks, email protection etc. It is also known fact that running 2 similar Security Programs(AntiVirus/Firewall/AntiSpyware) at the same time can affect System performance as well as conflict with the functionalities of the other. Running two different security products with similar features are not designed to work together on a single computer and can severely affect the performance. So, better avoid using Avast programs along with Norton 2009 and Norton 360.  The latest version - Norton 360 3.0 and Norton 2009, are Faster & Lighter secruity products that you can get today, means security that won’t slow you down. More specifically it means faster, fewer and shorter scans, high-speed network throughput, one-minute install, fewer active processes, less memory utilization – in general faster operations so you won’t feel a performance impact on your day-to-day computing experience. More over, Norton provides the Industry Best protection for your computer. So, there is no need for any other security programs. And, if you want, you can continue using Malwarebytes as an additional protection(for a secondary protection) and it won't confict with Norton as it don't have any real time protection. You can use Malwarebytes without any problem along with Norton as an Run-On-Demand scanner.

Hi

Just to add one thing to Yogesh's post. You can continue to use Malwarebytes with Norton as long as you use the free version. The paid for version has a real time scanner that will conflict woth Norton.

Many of the users on the forum with serious infections are runing more than one real time scanning software.  This would indicate that rather than making you safer, it makes you more vulnerable due to the conflicts in the software.
