Need help verifying the authentication file.

[ Edited ]

I need help verifying the authentication file.  I believe I placed it correctly as Meta Tag on the home page of my site... www.grandworldtravel.com

I would appreciate any help in getting the green check-mark.

thanks

Re: Help regarding Safeweb site verifictaion.

Hi MarkThrun, welcome to the Norton Community :-)

I have asked a moderator to split your post off from this thread and turn it into your own thread (you don't have to do anything), that way you will receive more exposure and support.

Are you able to access/have you accessed your root directory? Did you receive an e-mail giving you instructions which you followed, and were you able to initiate the verification process with success?

Re: Need help verifying the authentication file.

Hello MarkThrun,

As Yaso mentioned, the automated verification process is only available if you place the authentication code in your Root Directory.

If you cannot do that, then placing the code in a meta tag is acceptable, but you will need special assistance from the Safe Web Team for verification. I will flag you post to their attention.

In viewing your source code, I believe I can see you authentication code if it begins with pfc-zkwwp  and ends with  9qkug5ea. If this is not your code, please let me know.

It did seem to "wrap" a bit strange but it may be readable for the folks from Safe Web. You should see a response from them within a day or two.

Best Wishes.

Re: Need help verifying the authentication file.

Thanks Phil_D,

Yes, that is the auth code sent to me from Norton.  I wasn't sure if I correctly added it to meta tags. So I should wait for Norton to accept my meta tag entry of the auth code?

Thanks very much!

Re: Need help verifying the authentication file.

Hi MarkThrun,

Yes, the Safe Web team will need to manually verify your authentication code. They are generally here on the boards on a daily basis.

Since it is the weekend, allow them a day or two to respond.

Also, once your site ownership has been verified, it may take 10 to 14 days for your site to be evaluated.

Best Wishes.
